The GRAPHERGIA project partner Philippe Basset, Professor at ESIEE Paris, a school of engineering which is a founding member of the Université Gustave Eiffel (UGE), our Work Package (WP) 4 ‘Advanced electrical modelling and efficient power management of TENGs for energy harvesting and self-powered sensing IoT applications’ leader, offered a keynote in the Symposium 6 “Electromechanical Coupling Materials for Nanogenerators and Self-powered Electronics”, part of the Materials Challenges in Alternative and Renewable Energy 2024 Conference (MCARE 2024).

MCARE 2024, celebrated from the 19th to the 23rd of August in Jeju (South Korea), is designed around 9 thematic symposia. Professor Basset’s keynote focused on “Conditioning Systems for Triboelectric Nanogenerators”, including the last results on circuit optimization developed during the first year of GRAPHERGIA, and was attended by 50 participants. It was organized by the Professor Sang-Woo Kim, from the Yonsei University of South Korea. This symposium aimed to foster a deeper understanding and practical advancements in mechanical energy-harvesting strategies, micro/nanometer-scale piezoelectric, triboelectric, ferroelectric, and flexoelectric effects, as well as their coupling phenomena observed in solid dielectrics and semiconductors.

Philippe Basset collaborates in his research with Professor Sang-Woo Kim, with the support of CNRS, Campus France and Université Gustave Eiffel. Sang-Woo Kim worked for years on textile TENG, is very respected in this field, and feels eager to be involved in European Research and Innovation projects, such as GRAPHERGIA (he appears in the pictures below with a sanitary mask).
