Amirali Eleni, a Master student from our coordinator Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), participated in the XXXVIII Panhellenic Conference on Solid State Physics and Materials Science, celebrated from the 15th to the 18th of September 2024 in Ioannina (Greece).
She is a Physics graduate with special interest in technology of materials, and spoke about her GRAPHERGIA research in her presentation ‘From pristine PAN to carbon fibers: A morphological and chemical investigation’ on Tuesday the 17th during the ‘Photonic Processing’ session. About 50 people attended her talk, formed by a diverse group of scientists, innovators, and leaders in the fields of Physics, Engineering, Materials, Chemistry, and Biology.
Eleni affirmed that it was an honor to represent her colleagues and the GRAPHERGIA project at the Greek conference. At FORTH, they also feel proud of involving the GRAPHERGIA university students in public events:
“I feel very excited to see our undergraduate student, Eleni, gaining valuable experience by presenting her research at XXXVIII Panhellenic Conference on Solid State Physics and Materials Science! It is a great opportunity to showcase her hard work and build confidence and skills through early-stage oral presentations”, remarked Spyros Yannopoulos, the GRAPHERGIA Coordinator.
