On 3 February 2026, the GRAPHERGIA Hub hosted the fourth session of our Webinar Series, titled “How to Handle Intellectual Property Licensing in Research Projects”. The session was led by Dr. Konstantinos Vavekis, European Patent Attorney, Lead IPR Manager of GRAPHERGIA and Founder of our partner Euglottia Single Member PC.
This session focused on managing Intellectual Property (IP) licensing agreements in European research projects, with specific examples from GRAPHERGIA and our consortium partners. Innovation in research projects relies on results from multiple engaged partners; therefore, from the outset, it is crucial to establish formal agreements on how these results will be used beyond the project duration.
GRAPHERGIA is developing innovations in smart textiles, next-generation lithium-ion batteries, and smart sensors for the aviation sector, in collaboration with eleven European organisations. With this in mind, our hands-on session provided European Research and Innovation (R&I) project partners with a clear understanding of why IP licensing is needed, sharing practical tips for its implementation and management.
