On the 12th of February 2026, our partner Apurba Ray, Research Scientist at German Aerospace Center (DLR), gave a short talk on gel polymer electrolyte for supercapacitors in the Frontiers in Batteries and Electrochemistry webinar, led by the Topic Editors of the launched article collection: “Supercapacitors and Hybrid Electrochemical Cells: Advanced Materials, Architectures, and Emerging Applications.”
Apurba is one of the Topic Editors of above-mentioned article collection, and represented GRAPHERGIA in a webinar to discover emerging materials, next-generation electrolytes, and innovative device architectures shaping the future of supercapacitors and hybrid electrochemical cells. There were about 35 online participants in the session, and most of them were researchers (PhD, postdoc, professors, etc.) from Germany, Brazil, Canada, Turkey, Greece, and India, among many other countries.
“It was a profound honor to share an overview of our current research in GRAPHERGIA through this webinar. I am confident that platforms like this serve as a powerful catalyst for young researchers worldwide, and I eagerly anticipate more opportunities for such global knowledge-sharing in the future.” – Apurba Ray, Research Scientist at German Aerospace Center (DLR).

More about the Webinar “Supercapacitors and Hybrid Electrochemical Cells”
The session “Supercapacitors and Hybrid Electrochemical Cells: Advanced Materials, Architectures and Emerging Applications”, organised by Frontiers in Batteries and Electrochemistry featured:
- Dr. José Roberto Siqueira Junior (Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro, Brazil), with his talk Hybrid Nanostructures as Advanced Electrode Materials for Supercapacitors.
- Dr. Apurba Ray (German Aerospace Center (DLR), Germany), with his GRAPHERGIA talk Gel Polymer Electrolytes for Next-Generation Supercapacitors.
- Dr. Paulo Ortega (Universidade Federal de Viçosa, Brazil), with his talk Flexible Carbon Electrodes for Redox-Enhanced Supercapacitors.
The online event finished with a live Q&A. In case you couldn’t attend it, you can watch the recording here.
