Join us for the 5th Scientific Session of the GRAPHERGIA Hub Webinar Series, where cutting-edge research meets real-world innovation in graphene and nanomaterials.
We will explore how advanced laser-based methods are transforming the integration of graphene and functional nanomaterials into flexible substrates and next-generation electronic devices, targeting smart textile applications.
Professor Seoung-Ki Lee (Pusan National University, South Korea), will join us to present an innovative laser-induced photothermal approach for the selective synthesis and functionalisation of nanomaterials. His work demonstrates how precise control of laser irradiation can activate localised regions within a substrate, enabling targeted material growth and integration.
The webinar will also feature updates on GRAPHERGIA’s progress in developing a novel laser Roll-to-Roll pilot line, followed by a Q&A discussion with participants.
When?
- Friday 17 April 2026 – 11:00-12:15 CEST.

GRAPHERGIA Hub Webinar Series #5 Speakers
Spyros Yannopoulos – Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) – GRAPHERGIA
Spyros Yannopoulos has been serving as a Research Director at the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (FORTH) in Greece for over 23 years. Two years ago, he assumed the role of Professor of Physical Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Patras while maintaining his position at FORTH as a collaborative faculty member. As an expert in the development and applications of innovative advanced materials, he leads the FORTH team within the GRAPHERGIA project and supervises the research efforts of the entire consortium, which is set to power the future of energy with graphene.

Seoung-Ki Lee – Pusan National University, South Korea
Seoung-Ki Lee is a Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Pusan National University. He previously served as a Senior Research Scientist at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) from 2016 to 2021. He assumed the role of Professor at Pusan National University in 2021 and has since been actively engaged in research. He focuses on the properties of two-dimensional materials and their applications in flexible electronics and semiconductor devices. In particular, he has worked extensively on materials such as MoS₂ and graphene. More recently, he has been developing laser-based methodologies for the precise synthesis and functionalisation of nanomaterials, with an emphasis on their integration into next-generation electronic devices.

In GRAPHERGIA, we host a webinar series dedicated to three domains: intellectual property rights, technical webinars and scientific sessions. The aim of our webinar series is to share with you insights and findings from the GRAPHERGIA project empowering future energy harvesting and storage with graphene.
