Representatives from FORTH, the coordinator of GRAPHERGIA, and Adamant Composites visited the facilities of the project partner ComSensus in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from 9 to 12 June 2026, to advance the work related to the optimisation of the project’s triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) technology for energy harvesting.

During the four-day visit, the partners focused on preparing the measurement setup and custom-developed electronics, adapting them to the new TENG samples brought by the visitors. The GRAPHERGIA partners tested several TENG configurations and PCB modifications in order to better understand the measurements and the associated harvesting behaviour. This work established a solid basis for further measurements and for building the intended applications. Thanks to the modular design of the electronics, different TENG sizes, configurations and movements can now be studied under near-optimal energy harvesting conditions.

The visiting team included Markos Anagnostakos from FORTH and Ioannis Paraskevopoulos and Spyros Tsiotos from Adamant Composites. They were hosted by Andrej Čampa, R&I Manager at ComSensus.

“With the new samples and the improved electronics, we obtained substantially better energy harvesting from the TENG devices than in the initial tests, with the best-performing sample reaching a maximum energy per tap on the order of >1 μJ . Guided by the target use cases, we also determined the boundary conditions for TENG-based IoT applications and energy harvesting”, explained Andrej Čampa, R&I Manager at ComSensus.
