Today we successfully hosted the third session of the GRAPHERGIA Hub Webinar Series, under the scientific topic “Laser-Induced Graphene and MXenes on Cross-Linked Polymer Substrates for Wearable Devices”, co-organised with the POLYGRAPH project, and starring Professor Spyros Yannopoulos, the GRAPHERGIA Coordinator, and Dr. Marko Spasenović, the POLYGRAPH Coordinator.
The event drew an audience of 52 participants, including researchers, innovators, and company representatives in the fields of graphene, 2D materials, MXenes and wearable sensors from almost 20 countries. The interest level was high and sustained, and after the scheduled formal program ended, participants remained in discussion for over 15 minutes, engaging in lively Q&A and follow-up dialogue with the speakers to discover more about their research methodology and techniques.
GRAPHERGIA Hub Webinar Series #3 – Agenda and Highlights

As planned, the webinar began at 12:00 CET with a welcome by moderator Mona Marill, Project Manager at AUSTRALO Marketing Lab, the GRAPHERGIA Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation partner. Mona’s presentation was followed by:
- 12:05h–12:15h: Introduction by Professor Spyros Yannopoulos (Research Director at Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences (FORTH/ICE-HT) / GRAPHERGIA) on the laser-assisted graphene process for the GRAPHERGIA consortium.
- 12:15h–12:45h: Presentation by Dr. Marko Spasenović (Principal Research Fellow at the Center for Microelectronic Technologies at the Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy in Belgrade / POLYGRAPH) on the implementation of laser-induced graphene and MXene films on biocompatible polymer substrates for wearable sensors and electrodes.
- 12:45h–13:00h: Q&A and open discussion, which extended well beyond the formal closing time due to the interest risen by the topic among the participants.
GRAPHERGIA Hub Webinar Series #3 – Presentations and Recording
In case you missed our session today, or if you want to have a look at the presentations, find them below, and watch the recording:
- Professor Spyros Yannopoulos – Presentation on GRAPHERGIA’s Case
- Dr. Marko Spasenović – Presentation on Laser-Induced Graphene and MXenes on for Wearable Sensors
The third webinar in the GRAPHERGIA Hub successfully fulfilled its aim of sharing insights from the GRAPHERGIA project, and beyond, around future energy and sensing systems built on advanced 2D materials. The high engagement level illustrates that the topic is timely and of real interest to both academic and industry audiences.
In GRAPHERGIA, we host a webinar series dedicated to three domains: intellectual property rights, technical webinars and scientific sessions. The aim of our webinar series is to share findings from the GRAPHERGIA project empowering future energy harvesting and storage with graphene.
Join us in the GRAPHERGIA Hub, and become a hubber!
